Ông Zhao bị cho là nhân tố chính dẫn đến sự sụp đổ của FTX. Binance đã đạt được một thỏa thuận giải cứu dự kiến với FTX vào đầu tuần qua, nhưng giao dịch đó gần như ngay lập tức thất bại, mở đường cho việc nộp đơn phá sản vào hôm 11/11 và sự từ chức của người sáng lập FTX Sam Bankman-Fried.

Bên cạnh đó, ông Zhao cũng nêu chi tiết về các tương tác của ông với FTX, cho biết Binance đã quyết định bán cổ phần của mình trong FTT – một mã thông báo kém thanh khoản được FTX hậu thuẫn – sau khi một báo cáo của CoinDesk đưa ra câu hỏi về bảng cân đối kế toán của quỹ đầu cơ FTX. “Vấn đề này đã không được làm rõ trong ba ngày qua, và nói thêm rằng rắc rối đã ở đó từ lâu hơn”, CEO này cho hay.
